About Androscoggin River

One of New England's great environmental recovery stories — from polluted mill river to legitimate trophy fishery. Wild browns and rainbows dominate the Errol reach; a C&R section runs below Berlin. Big water — wading is extremely limited above 1,500 CFS and borderline at 1,000. The mid-June Alder fly hatch is a regional spectacle. Cold water from Lake Umbagog and the Dead Cambridge keeps temps fishable through July.
