About Au Sable North Branch

The North Branch of the Au Sable is a smaller, wilder tributary to the main stem — dense streamside alder, wild brook trout in the upper reaches, and brown trout throughout. The Lovells area near the Crawford County State Forest is the heart of the North Branch fishery, with Type 1 restrictions protecting this cold, spring-fed headwater stream.
