About Betsie River

The Betsie River in Benzie County is a top Michigan steelhead river, with fish entering from Lake Michigan at Frankfort for both fall and spring runs. Wild brown and brook trout populate the upper river above Thompsonville. The river flows through a mix of private and public land in the Benzie State Forest, with good wade access at marked public sites.
