About Black River

A Connecticut River tributary in southern Vermont, flowing through Springfield with decent public access. Mix of wild and ANR-stocked browns, brookies, and rainbows. North Springfield Lake provides some flow moderation, and the early-season Hendrickson hatch is solid. Less pressured than the Battenkill corridor — worth exploring if you want quieter southern VT water.

Regulations
