TPWD has prioritized the Blanco for Guadalupe bass genetic restoration — pure-strain fish are stocked to reduce smallmouth hybridization. Gin-clear water over white limestone enables exceptional sight-fishing. A dedicated fly fishing community has developed around the Blanco's carp population — double-digit fish on the flats offer technical, saltwater-style stalking. John Knox Ranch provides free public access.
