About Connecticut River (Trophy Stretch)

The 'Trophy Stretch' — 2.5 miles of tailwater below the First Connecticut Lake dam to Lake Francis. Bottom-release dam keeps water cold all summer (fishable even in August when everything else is blown out). Browns over 15 lbs have been documented. Special regs: 2-fish aggregate, 12" minimum trout, 15" minimum salmon. The most remote major fishery in NH — plan for the drive to Pittsburg.
