About Dead River

Below Long Falls Dam (Flagstaff Lake) β€” a cold tailwater supporting stocked brook and brown trout. Less celebrated than the adjacent Kennebec but a useful low-water option when The Forks is blown out by upstream releases. Joins the Kennebec at The Forks. Fishable on the right release schedule; flows can swing fast.
