About Dog River

A small Winooski tributary with a big reputation among Vermont regulars who keep it quiet. Wild browns and brookies in a tight, wooded corridor through Northfield. Drops low fast in July and August — pick your days. Excellent early season when caddis are thick. Technical small-water fishing — 7.5 ft rod territory.
