The East Fork of the Carson River flows out of Alpine County, California into Nevada's Carson Valley — one of the most scenic high-desert corridors in the Great Basin. The Nevada stretch near Gardnerville runs through ranching country with surprisingly good trout fishing, heavily stocked by NDOW and supported by relatively cold spring flows. Access is straightforward and the wide valley character makes it beginner-friendly. A great option for anglers staying in the Lake Tahoe or Carson City area.
