About Ellis River
A classic White Mountains stream with wild browns and brookies throughout. The gorge section near Jackson Village is the most celebrated stretch. Small drainage (~11 sq mi) — rises and drops fast, demands attention to the gauge. Best windows are April–June and again September–October. Fly-fishing-only sections apply in places.
