About Gasconade River

The longest river entirely within Missouri, the Gasconade carves through the Ozark highlands. The upper river near Hazelgreen offers the best trout habitat — smaller, cooler, spring-influenced, and stocked by MDC. Below Jerome, the river is primarily a smallmouth bass and Ozark warmwater fishery; focus the upper headwaters for trout. Scenic float water with significant solitude.
