About Jacks Fork River
A wild and rugged tributary of the Current River, joining at Eminence within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Smaller and more intimate than the Current, the Jacks Fork features spring-fed pools, clear gravel runs, and excellent brown trout habitat. Alley Spring — one of Missouri's largest springs — contributes cold, crystal-clear water mid-river and keeps the Fork flowing through summer drought. Less pressure than the Current, higher reward for technical anglers. Note: 07067500 is Big Spring near Van Buren on the Current — NOT Jacks Fork at Eminence. The correct Eminence gauge is 07066000.
Regulations
Missouri fishing license + trout permit required (resident $12 license + ~$10 trout permit). Standard Missouri trout regulations apply on the ONSR reach. 2026–27 regulation cycle. Verify at mdc.mo.gov.
