About Kennebec River – East Outlet

Only 3.5 miles of water from Moosehead Lake's East Outlet Dam to Indian Pond — and one of Maine's premier wild landlocked salmon fly fisheries. Salmon average 2–4 lbs, with fish to 6 lbs in good years. The smelt-driven spring run is the headline event. Fly fishing only year-round, catch-and-release for salmon. A short river, but a serious one.
