About Kickapoo River

The Kickapoo River mainstem winds through the most spectacular ridge-and-coulee country in the Driftless Area — a meandering medium-sized river with wild brown trout in the upper reaches near Ontario and La Farge. The Kickapoo Valley Reserve protects a long stretch of the upper river and offers excellent public access. Larger water than Timber Coulee or the West Fork, with deeper holding water for bigger browns.
