About Lake Fork of the Gunnison

Flows out of Lake San Cristobal near Lake City — one of the most scenic drives in Colorado. Trophy brown trout, especially late summer and fall ahead of the spawn. Remote location (3+ hours from Denver) keeps pressure low. Best fishing as flows drop in August and September when big browns begin feeding aggressively.
