About Little Juniata River
One of Pennsylvania's premier wild brown trout rivers. The Tyrone-to-Spruce Creek corridor in Huntingdon County is legendary among East Coast anglers — wild fish average 12–16 inches with much larger fish common. Limestone-influenced freestone water with excellent Sulphur, March Brown, and Green Drake hatches.
Regulations
Class A Wild Trout designation throughout much of the trophy water. Fly Fishing Only / Catch-and-Release sections — consult current PFBC regs for boundaries. Significant private water in the Spruce Creek corridor (Penn State / Allenberry leases) — public access from designated launches and PFBC easements only. Requires PA fishing license + trout/salmon permit.
