About Little Red River

The Little Red River below Greers Ferry Dam is a heavily-hydropeaked tailwater that produced the world-record 40-pound, 4-ounce brown trout in 1992. Cold bottom-release water from Greers Ferry Lake supports trophy browns and stocked rainbows, but CFS can spike from 200 to 5,000+ within hours when generators kick on — read the gauge before driving and check generation schedules.
