About Mad River

A classic Vermont freestone running through the Mad River Valley β€” Waitsfield to Moretown ski country. Primarily wild browns with wild brookies in upper reaches. Tight woodland pools and fast pocket water that responds quickly to rain. Best fished early season and after September cooling; summer recreation traffic is heavy on the river.
