About McCloud River

The McCloud River harbors the native McCloud River redband rainbow trout, a genetically distinct strain from which many of the world's hatchery rainbows are descended. The wild trout section below Ah-Di-Na Campground flows through a remote granite canyon to Lake McCloud, accessible by a rugged 3-mile trail. Fly fishing only, catch-and-release.
