About North Branch Root River

The North Branch of the Root River is a small SE Minnesota Driftless spring creek — cold, technical limestone water with wild brown trout and brook trout in the headwaters. Less famous than the South Branch but every bit as productive, and significantly less pressured. Classic small-stream Driftless fishing.
