About Red River (Natural Bridge)
The 2.2-mile delayed-harvest section inside Natural Bridge State Park is the premier trout water on this river — artificial only, catch-and-release from October through April, stocked with approximately 5,000 rainbow trout annually. Set amid the extraordinary geology of the Red River Gorge, this is one of the most scenic trout fishing backdrops in Kentucky. Winter fishing offers solitude; opening weeks of stocking bring crowds.
Regulations
KY Fishing License + Trout Permit required. 2.2-mile delayed-harvest section: artificial lures/flies only, all catch-and-release, October 1–April 1. Outside park boundaries: standard trout regulations (8/day, no size limit). State park entry fee applies.
