About Saco River

A larger freestone river running from the Crawford Notch headwaters through North Conway and Conway. Primarily stocked browns and rainbows with some wild fish in tributaries. Best wading is in the 300–700 CFS range — broad gravel bars, long pools. Popular tubing destination in summer, so fish early. Good Green Drake hatch in June.
