About Strawberry River

The "Wild Strawberry" — a 6-mile WMA reach between Strawberry and Starvation reservoirs that fishes like a large spring creek with long smooth runs and deep pools. Documented browns to 27 inches.

Regulations

Flows are dam-influenced by Strawberry Reservoir (Bureau of Reclamation) but also respond to natural runoff — not fully dam-controlled. CFS alone does not indicate fishability — check current release schedules and runoff conditions. Portions of the canyon border the Uintah and Ouray Reservation; a tribal fishing license ($40/year) may be required for some sections — verify boundaries before fishing.
