About Tallulah River (Rabun County Headwaters)

The upper Tallulah drains the southern flank of the Blue Ridge in Rabun County, running through the Chattahoochee National Forest before entering the Georgia Power impoundment chain (Seed Lake, Rabun, Tallulah Falls) above the gorge. Wild and stocked trout in a rugged, remote freestone setting. The USGS gauge near Clayton captures the headwaters section above all the dams — this is the water trout anglers care about. Year-round season, standard 8-fish daily creel.
