About Trinity River

The Trinity River below Lewiston Dam is California's top steelhead tailwater, with consistent cool flows supporting runs of both winter and summer steelhead. The Lewiston tailwater section holds wild rainbow trout year-round, while steelhead push up from the Klamath from October through April. The Hoopa Valley Tribe co-manages the fishery.
