About West Walker River

The West Walker flows from the high Sierra down through the Walker River corridor into Nevada's desert basin. Unlike the tailwater East Walker, the West Walker retains more freestone character — flows are more variable and the fish population reflects both wild and stocked fish. The Walker River system as a whole is managed to support Lahontan cutthroat recovery. A scenic canyon setting and light pressure make it worth the drive for anglers willing to explore Nevada's remote river corridors.
