About White River

The White River in Ashland County, far northern Wisconsin, is a cold spring-fed Lake Superior tributary with strong populations of wild brook trout — the primary species — plus brown trout. The river flows through Bayfield County's Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and offers genuine wilderness fishing close to Lake Superior. Less crowded than the Bois Brule but every bit as scenic.
