About Willowemoc Creek

The Beaverkill's twin sister and the second half of Catskill fly-fishing history. The Willowemoc and Beaverkill meet at the Junction Pool in Roscoe — "Trout Town USA" — making this confluence the most storied piece of trout water in America. Wild browns, holdover rainbows, and native brookies in the upper reaches near Livingston Manor. Hatch progression mirrors the Beaverkill: legendary Hendricksons in late April, Green Drakes in late May.

Regulations

No active USGS gauge on the Willowemoc — the gauge shown is the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, used as a rough directional indicator since the two rivers share the same watershed and meet at the Junction Pool in Roscoe. Check local angler reports for direct Willowemoc conditions. No-kill, artificial-only sections exist along the Willowemoc — consult current NYSDEC regs. Requires NYSDEC license.
